The Circle Community Radio Station was developed in January of 2006.  Circle had purchased a radio transmitter through the Horizon Leadership Grant in 2005.  We had been approached to start a radio station but didn’t want to take on another business.  Then in January of 2006, more students than we could accommodate, wanted into our Entrepreneurship class.  It was then that we decided to start the low frequency radio station.  The range is only about 8 miles out.  The other school-to-work businesses as well as the Circle school system, has supported and paid for the radio set-up.  Our school technology person was a key person to help us set up this business.  We are on the air 24-7.  The students do live radio during the class, otherwise they pre-record information and put it on the play rotation.  Using community volunteers, we started broadcasting the basketball games and tournaments.  Because of the low frequency and inaccessibility to many people in the area, we have also set up a website for audio streaming of the tournament games that Circle plays.
